As we usher in a new decade, I find myself embarking on a brand new adventure. I have been a part of the beauty industry for 17+ years and have gone from working for one of the premiere Twin Cities spas, to renting a space for my business, to finally opening my own brick and mortar!
My passion for this industry began many years ago. As a college student, I was constantly scouring fashion and beauty magazines looking for the best skin creams and taking care of my girlfriends on our kitchen floor…sometimes that did not work out too well. After graduation, I moved to Minneapolis and was elated to find that the Aveda Institute was right down the road! Needless to say, I was enrolling and embarking on my aesthetic education in no time.
In November of 1995, I received my diploma and was licensed by the state of Minnesota to take my practice from the “kitchen floor” to a bonafide treatment room. However, life had a few surprises for me, and I did not work for long before having my first baby girl in 1998, followed by other three baby girls (yes, triplets) in 2000. As one can imagine, working outside of the home was not first on my list!
In 2003, life changing events sent me back into the work force, and I was fortunate to land a position in a highly revered spa where I spent 13 years working with high end skin care lines and board certified plastic surgeons. I received an advanced education that, to this day, I am enormously grateful for. This experience gave me the knowledge and confidence that I needed to become my own boss.
Today, I am proud to say that, with the tireless help from my wonderful husband, we are on the eve of opening a beautiful location in Hopkins, Minnesota. We have renovated a building that will offer beauty and wellness professionals the opportunity to run their business in an upscale-luxurious environment as suite rentals. I will also have a training space where I can offer advanced education to other industry professionals.
So here it is… a new decade! With the launch of this blog, I will strive to bring information to help you be the best you can be. It is my mission to give women the confidence they need to face the world each day. So with that… let’s talk beauty.
Cheers to 2020!
